Stanley Buetens owned lutes for sale

After holding onto these lutes for years, it is time for them to get back to people who can actually play them. Please forgive my poor skills at accurate describing these lutes, I am not an expert (not even an amateur). Hopefully the photos will speak for them. The images are unaltered. Both lutes were made for Stanley Buetens by Raymond Pisarro. Please note that these lutes will be sold as-is. It is up to you to re-string or otherwise bring up to playing perfection. Both include the custom cases. Shipping will be approximately $200 (you will pay the actual amount) — unless you are in the SF Bay Area (I’m in the Santa Cruz area) and are willing to meet half-way. Payment through PayPal only. This is your chance to own a bit of lute history.

Lute 1

This is the lute that my father played the most. What I would called his “workhorse”. He generally played this one on the recordings you can find elsewhere on this site. 8‑course. Renaissance style. Shows some noticeable wear. Estimated value $600. I’m asking $450 or best offer.

Lute 2 (SOLD!)

This is a 13-course 24-string Baroque style lute. Arch-lute tuning. Estimated value $900‑1100. I’m asking $750 or best offer.

If you are interested in purchasing either or both lutes, please contact me.
